A Comparison of Last Man Standing and Street Fight Essay example --

In a world where the strong survive and the weak plunder, running for humankind office can be a more daunting task then holding the actual office itself. The scenes, Last homophile Standing and alley Fight, depict two separate elections in two separate states as fierce battles. The films provide contrasting views of the struggle to reach public office, and the tactics apply to get there. Though the films paint the similar process of brutal campaigning and numbing elections, these films have clearly different stories. In Central Texas, incumbent republican Rick Green and Democrat rookie, Patrick Rose, ran a tight race for a seat inside the Texas House of Representatives. This close race was delineated inside the film Last Man Standing. Rick Green, a conservative Christian and law school graduate from the University of Texas, held the house seat since 1999. As the incumbent panorama up for re-election, Green held majority voter support through out the race. R ick Green rallied support in local events and church functions, asserting his faith to grow support. In Greens opposition was young Democrat Patrick Rose. Rose was new to politics but eager to win the fight. Rose allowed himself to be represent as a new comer and young candidate, this played in his favor especially among women voters. Rose, a graduate from Stanford and the University of Texas, held the firm belief that this election could be won one voter at a time. Last Man Standing opens with Patrick Rose meandering through a suburban community bash on doors and handing out campaign fliers. Most that answered the door were unaware of who Rose was, or that he was running for election. To most voters Rick Green was seen as the candidate that was easy to vot... ...ing and Street Fight outline the momentous fight for the title of public office. Macbeth - Noble Soldier to Bloody Tyrant Essay -- Macbeth essays

Macbeth - Noble Soldier to Bloody Tyrant The purpose of tragedy is to arouse in the audience emotions of idolise or tenderness, and to produce a catharsis-a relieving cleansing-of these emotions. Macbeth is the most horrific of Shakespeares tragedies because the protagonist commits such bloodthirsty acts. A while from on the battlefield, however, this brutality is not evident when we first butt against the hero. General Macbeth is a man of military and political importance, the heroic Thane of Glamis and potential heir to the throne of Scotland. By the end of the play he is an entirely distinct person than he was in the beginning. In the beginning he is a heroic, decent, and noble soldier, but by the end of the play he is a bloody tyrant. A key ingredient in such a genre is the tragic flaw, an idea that goes back to an influential work of literary criticism called Poetics, by Aristotle. Aristotle said that the tragic hero should be someone of rank or importance wit h a tragic flaw, who suffers a reversal of intention that eventually leads to his or her death. Aristotle also said that in the process, the tragic hero should experience recognition of this failure and that by the end of the work our moral sense should be satisfied that right or justice has prevailed. The tragic flaw is some weakness in character that is responsible for action or inaction on the part of the tragic hero and leads to the reversal of the heros original intention. Therefore, the reversal of intention is the upseting point in the tragic heros life when he or she experiences something that causes the tide to turn and previous success to turn to failure. The fourth soliloquy prepares us for the reversal, and the climactic... ...ere is room for debate about his courage and nobility, and whether or not we feel any pity or compassion for him. Our feelings at the end constitute the expected catharsis. Works Cited and Consulted Greenblatt, Stephen. Introductio n to Macbeth. The Norton Shakespeare. New York Norton, 1997. 2555-63. letter of confession :: essays research papers

earlier I begin this letter, I want you to know that the reason why Im sharing this with you is because I feel that I have to be completely honest about something thats very personal to me. Originally, I wanted to tell you, but I just did not feel comfortable and I did not trust you enough. But, I can not keep this from you any longer. I hope after I justify this that you can understand why I did so The past two years of my life have been filled with extreme hardship. Although I have had controlling things take place in my life, the severely always seems to outweigh the good. When I was going out with Lamar, my high school fling, a gynecologist in Newburgh told me that I had Abnormal Cells and she needed to take a closer look at them. She said not to worry, but that it crucial that she did a process to examine the cells conservatively because if she didnt, I could possibly develop Cancer in my Cervix. During this time, mind you, I was having unprotected sex with Lamar and he wa s the first boy I did that with. This careful procedure (known as a biopsy, coposcopy-not really sure how to spell this one) that she performed was one of the most uncomfortable things I ever had to go through. It involves doing something, that makes you feel like you have bad period cramps without having your actual period. After doing this close examination, I did not hear anything again from this doctor until about a year later, which at that time, I considered them incompetent. Before I went away to college, I went to the city to visit my mothers GYN for a regular pap smear. She then wrote to me in college telling me that my cells were abnormal and that I needed to take some medication (basically this crap that I had to stick up in my coochie). She also told me that I needed to come in so she could do another check-up. So I took the medicine thinking (or rather hoping) that it would clear up whatever was going on down there. I went the GYN in early October. There, she told me th at the pap in August should cells of H P V, a sexually transmitted disease, that if left untreated, could cause Cancer.

Web Resources for Grief :: essays research papers

Websites on Issues Relating To Death & DyingThe web can be as useful or meaningless as you want it to be. I have found it to be a wealth of resources when it comes to needing cultivation on anything. I guess part of that depends on whether or non a person can decipher between sites that are credible, and sites that are not. I have compiled ten sites that I have either known close through my personal experience as an active member in the death care industry, or through using simple inquisition engine words to obtain sites that would pique my interest. In each web site description, I will mention what words I used in the search engine, if needed.I really didnt know what to use for search words other than the very common words death, dying, and bereavement. I finally got to where I would go to websites that I didnt particularly care for, but had found links to the ones I did like and find interesting and useful. I finally got a gnomish bit more creative while browsing through the sites, giving me different ideas on different key words to use to give me alteration in my search. I used AOL (who has keywords) and Google.http//www.funeralnet.com/ This is a web site I have known about through general knowledge because of my experience in funeral service. It is very informative and educative in the fields of death. It was last updated in 2002.http//www.adec.org/ADEC, The association for Death Education and Counseling is a site that has information for the consumer to information to the professional. They offer the Certificate in Thanatology, for grief counselors. I found this site as a link at funeralnet.com, under Grief Resources link.http//www.ksfda.orgThe Kansas Funeral Directors and Embalmers tie beam is a website familiar to me. It has several general information areas for the professional as well as the general public.http//www.accesskansas.org/ksbma The Kansas State Board of Mortuary Arts. Another website I know very well. This site has all the state law s that govern funeral directors, embalmers, care and disposal of the deceased, and any other K.S.A. that might be applicable to this subject. There is to a fault licensing information on every individual and every funeral home in the state. There is also a section for the general public, a Q and A of sorts as well.http//www.soros.org/death/ This is the Project on Death in America website.

The Secret of Ella and Micha Chapter 3

EllaI take it thats Micha? Lila wanders round my kitchen as she tightens a loose medal on the waist of her floral dress. Hes even cuter than in the picture.Yep, that would be Micha. I kick a box across the stained linoleum floor and discombobulate the light on. It looks the selfsame(prenominal) seventies themed colors, wicker chairs nigh the glass table, and yellow and brown countertops. So proficient your dad lives here? Lila circles the small kitchen and her gaze lingers on the countertop adjoining to the kitchen sink where empty bottles are lining the wall.Yeah. My matureer br otherwise moved go forth as soon as he graduated. I even up the handle of my bag and head for the stairway. The house smells like rotten food and smoke. In the living room, the aged plaid sofa is va mintt, and the ash tray on the umber table is spilling everyplace with cigarette simplyts. The television is on so I closed it off.So wheres your dad? Lila wonders as we climb up the stairs.Im not co nvinced(predicate), I avoid the truth, because hes probably at the bar.Okay, wheres your mom? she probes. You neer told me where she lives.Lila doesnt live on much about me and its how I want it. Leaving her in the dark, about my mom, my brother everyone in this aspect of my life has allowed me to transform into someone who doesnt have to manage with my problems. My dad works nights, I make up a story. And my mom moved out quite a while ago. She lives up on Cherry hill. She leans forward to study a portrait of my mother dis operateed on the wall the same chromatic hair, pale skin, and green eye as me. Her smile was just now as fake as mine, too. Is this your mom? She asks and I nod. She looks just like you.My chest tightens and I quickly trot to the top of the stairway. At the end of the hall, the bathroom door is wide open. The corner of the porcelain tub and the stain on the tile floor is in my line of vision. My magnetic core constricts tighter as the memories flood me. Im suffocating with panic.Baby girl, she tell. Im difference to go take a nap, just for a little while. Ill be lowpin in just a bit.My knees tremble as I shut the door. My chest opens up and oxygen flows done my lungs again. So where does your brother live? Lila peers indoors my brothers room full of drums, guitar picks, CDs, and records. Theres a bunch of band posters taped to the wall and a guitar up on a mount.I rec over in Chicago. You think?I shrug. We dont have the best relationship. She nods, like she understands. So is he in a band?Im not sure if hes still in one now. Im dig since his stuffs here, probably not, I say. He all played because he was friends with Micha and hes in a band. Or was. I have no idea what he does bothmore.Ella, did you escape touch with everyone in your life? Lila accuses, tucking the pillow under her arm.Her scrutiny makes me uncomfortable. Avoiding confrontation, I turn on my bumroom light and shudder at the sight. Its like a museum of my past . Sheets of my artwork are tacked to the walls, trimmed with a black skeleton border Micha put up when we were twelve to make my room more manly. A line of battle of guitar picks line the far dresser and there is a pile of my boots in the corner. My bed is made with the same purple comforter and theres a plate with a half-eaten cookie on it, which is suppuration mold.I toss the cookie into the trash. Hasnt my dad been in here since I left?Lila picks up a guitar and plops vanquish on the bed. I didnt hunch forward you played. She positions the guitar on her lap and strums the strings. I continuously wanted to learn how to play, but my mom would neer let me take lessons. You should teach me.I dont play. I drop my bag on the floor. Thats Michas guitar. His initials are on the back. She turns it over and looks at the initials. So the hot guy from next door is also a musician. God, Im about to swoon. No swooning over anyone in this neighborhood, I advise. And since when are you into musicians? I have never, until today, heard you say anything about liking guys who bed play the guitar.Since they look like him. She points over her shoulder toward Michas house, which is visible through the window of my room. That boy is dripping with sexiness.Jealousy growls in my chest and I mentally susurrus for it to shut up. I pick up a photo of my mom and me at the zoo when I was six. Were happy, smiling, and the sun is bright against our squinting eyes. It rips at my heart and I let the photo fall back onto the desk. Theres a trundle under the bed that you can sleep on if you want.Sounds good. She slides the guitar off her lap and goes over to the window, drawing the curtain back. Maybe we should go to the party. It looks kind of fun.I gather my hair away from my eyes before dragging the trundle out from under the bed. No offense, Lila, but I dont think you can handle one of Michas parties. Things can incur a little bit crazy. She narrows her eyes at me, insulted. I can ha ndle parties. Its you that never wanted to go to any of them. And the ones that I did talk you into going to, you just stood in the corner, bedeviling water and sulking.I the right way down on the bed with my arms and legs slack over the edges. That party is nothing like a college frat party. Theyre the kind of parties you wake up from the next day on a park bench with no shoes on and a tattoo on your back, with no recollection of what happened the night before.Oh my God, is that how you got that tattoo on your back the one you refuse to tell me what it means. She lies on the bed next to me and we discern at the Chevelle poster on my ceiling. It means infinite. I ride the hem of my tank top down, hiding the tattoo on my lower back, and drape my arm over my forehead. And I dont refuse to talk about it. I just cant remember how I got it.She gives me a sad, puppy dog face and bats her eyelashes. Pretty please, with a cherry on top. This might be my only chance to go to a party like this. The ones at my old neighborhood consist of limos, fancy dresses and tuxes, and a lot of champagne. When I dont respond, she adds, You owe me.How do you figure? For giving you a ride here. Please dont make me go down there, I plead, clasping my custody to nominateher. Please. She rolls onto her stomach and props up on her elbows. Hes an old boyfriend, isnt he? You were lying. I knew it. No one can draw a picture like that of someone theyve never loved.Micha and I have never dated. I insist with a heavy sigh. If you really want to go see what these parties are all about, Ill take you down there, but Im not hanging around for more than five minutes. I give in because deep down Im curious to check up on the world I left behind. She claps her hands animatedly and squeals, feel out the window one last time. Holy crap. Someones standing on the roof. They say curiosity killed the cat. Come on, party girl. Lets get this over with.***About fifteen years ago, this town used to be a decent place to live. Then the factory that supplied jobs to almost the entire town shut down. People were laid off and slowly it began to dwindle into the bottomless pit that it is now. The houses across the street are painted in graffiti and Im pretty sure my next door neighbor makes moonshine in his garage, or at least he did before I left.Inside Michas house, there are plurality loitering in the entryway. I push my way through them and into the kitchen, which is crammed with even more people. On the table is a kegger and enough bottles of alcohol to open a spirits store. The atmosphere is overflowing with the scent of sweat and there are a few girls dancing on the kitchen counters. People are making out in the corners of the living room where the sofas are shoved to the side, so the band can flare on their instruments, screaming lyrics of pain and misunderstanding at the top of their lungs. Im surprised Micha isnt up there playing.Holy crap. This is Lilas blue eyes are round as she ga wks at the people jumping up and down in the living room, shaking their bodies and thrashing their heads.Like a mosh pit, I finish for her, shoving a short girl with bleached hair out of my way.Hey, the girl whines as her drink spills down the front of her leather dress. You did that on purpose. For a split second, I forget who I am and turn around to blast her with a close glare. But therefore I remember that Im the calm and rational Ella one that doesnt get into fights and beat other girls up.What, preppy girl? She pats her chest, ready to throw down. You think you terrify me.Lila bites her thumbnail. Were sorry. She didnt mean to.Chants fill the living room and the chaos is giving me a headache. Sorry, I strain an apology and squeeze between her and the wall. She snickers at me and her friends join in with her laughter as they sashay to the back door. It takes everything I have not to turn around and tackle her to the floor.Lila makes a beeline for the bar set up on the counter , dumps a drop of vodka into a cup, and mixes it with a splash of orange juice. Okay, that was intense. I thought she was going to kick your ass.Welcome to Star Grove. I squall over the music. The Land of the Intense and Poverty-stricken, where the adolescents roam free without sober parental supervision and try to start fights wherever they can.She laughs, takes a gulp of her drink, and her face pinches at the bitterness. Try She starts, then coughs. She pounds her hand against her chest. ar you going to make it? I ask. Lila has never been a big drinker. She nods and clears her throat. I was going to say try growing up where you have to get permission to wear a certain style of shoes. I give her a mystified look and she adds, If it wasnt up to my mothers posh fashion standards I wasnt allowed to wear it.I edge out of the way of a guy with blotchy skin and a beanie covering his head, who doesnt seem to mind that he knocks his shoulder into mine. Im sure it wasnt that bad growing up where you did. I mean, at least there was some control.Yeah, there was, she says uneasily and her eyes quickly scan the room. I cant believe theres a live band. Its like being at an outside concert. What? They dont have live bands in California? I joke with a small smile as I pour myself a cup of water. Ones that take place outside? She stirs her drink with a straw. not these kinds of bands. Think much more mellow, with a stage and seats to watch.Sounds like fun to me. I oblige a smile and glance at my watch. Are you about ready to go?Are you joking? Sucking the drink out of the straw, she hops on the counter and crosses her legs. We just got here. Why would we want to go? In fact, we should go dance. My eyes find the living room, where a guy with dreads smashes his head against the glass plate of a cabinet in the corner and everyone cheers. You can if you want, but Im good. I gulp my water. I like all my bones intact.Leaning against the counter, I scan through the crowd, curious to see where Micha is. I dont bop why Im so curious, but I am. Occasionally he would bail on his own parties, either to hook up or just get some quiet. I found him a couple of times hiding out on a lawn chair. Each time, he would pull me onto his lap and we would stare up at the night sky, talking about an unreachable future.I spot him in the corner, sitting on the couch with his arm draped around some blonde girl with boobs popping out of her dress. His hair hangs in his eyes and hes nibbling at his lip ring, driving the girl crazy Im sure. Theyre just talking, but the girl keeps flipping her hair off her shoulder and her hand is on his chest. Its hard to tell if Michas enjoying her company or not. He was always difficult to read when it came to girls because he never really looked interested in any of them, but sometimes he would end up with them for the night.I asked him about it once and he said it was all fun, but that he was just killing time until I gave into my inner desire t o be with him. I tackled him to the ground for it and it made him laugh. Why do you have that look on your face? Like youre undressing someone with your eyes? Lila asks, following my gaze. Oh, is that My eyes dart from Micha. I wasnt looking at anyone, just the alienation in the living room.Yeah, right, she says, elevating her eyebrows. You totally want him. I can see it on your face.Well, Ill be damned if it isnt the infamous Ella May Ethan Gregory grins from the other side of the counter, just behind Lila. He stumbles around the corner, nearly clipping his head on the low ceiling. Before I can respond, he has me trapped in an inapt hug with his long arms that are tracked with tattoos. His grey shirt smells like an ash tray and his breath like beer. He pulls back, ruffling his black hair with his fingers. Does Micha sleep with youre here in his house?I lie breezily, very aware of where Micha is and what hes doing. Im pretty sure he saw me walk in.I doubt that. Hes been looking f or you for the past eight months. He glances over his shoulder and nods at Lila, then tips in toward me. You know hes been a wreck ever since you took off. You really fucked up his head, Ella.Thats such a lie, I tell him. Ethan and I have never really gotten along very well, which is why the hug confused me so much. We both had the same blunt attitude and butted heads a lot. The only reason we were friends at all was because of Micha. Although, there was one time we did bond for a split second, but we never talk about it. Micha doesnt fall apart over anyone. I know him better than that. His face is flushed and his brown eyes are bloodshot. I speculate you dont know him as well as you think then, because hes been a wreck. In fact, all hes done for the last few months is search for you.Which explains the party, I retort. Im guessing that classifies as that.First one in five months, he says. And I think he only did it because he found out where you were and chooseed a distraction.I k now him better than you do, Ethan, and he doesnt fall apart over girls, I say, but cringe at the fact that I might not know him anymore. A lot can happen in eight months. Hey, Lila, we should go. Its getting late. She glances at her diamond encrusted Rolex and rolls her eyes. Its like nine thirty.Youre leaving already? He wheels his hand in the air. Thats nonsense talk right there. You havent even seen Micha yet and hes gonna be super pissed if he misses seeing you, especially since you ran away from him in the driveway.Actually, I think were going to hang out for a little while longer, Lila presses with unrelenting eyes. She mouths, hes hot. Then she fastens her hands together. Please, Ella. Pretty please.Ethan isnt Lilas type. Hes got baggage almost as heavy as mine. I start to protest when Michas deep persona floats over my shoulder and tickles my skin like feathers. Without being able to help it, I let out a soft moan.Yeah, pretty girl, stay a little longer. Hes so close that t he heat of his body kisses my skin and my insides tremor. His fingers comb through my hair as he whispers, You smell so good. God Ive missed your smell.I have to get up really early in the morning. I clear my throat and Lilas eyebrows furrow. I need to go home and get some sleep. He places his hand on the counter, so the crook of his arm is sense of touch my hip. You can keep trying to avoid me, he breathes in my ear, taking a nip at my earlobe. But sooner or later youre going to have to talk to me. His breath reeks of beer and his clothes of smoke.Refusing to crack at the sound of his sexy voice, I turn and face him. I dont have time to get drunk and act like a moron.Hes even more gorgeous under the light and more irresistible, even though his eyes are glossed over. Its your shifting Im drunk you drive me crazy. He descends his voice to a soft purr, the same voice hes used on me many times to get what he wants the voice that makes me feel alive inside. Baby, come on. Please. We need to talk. He leans in to kiss me.The suddenness throws me off balance and I trip over my own feet. Micha, interrupt it. I gently push him back and he staggers into the edge of the counter. Youre drunk. And Im going home.Shes acting weird like shes way too calm, Ethan remarks, with a wave of his finger. And shes dressed funny, like that girl we use to go to school with. Whats her name? He snaps his fingers. Stacy. StacyHarris, I say exhausted. And I look like a girl that went away to college and grew up.Lila slants forward. Ellas been this way since Ive known her, but Im really curious what she used to look like with the way everyone keeps talking about her because I cant picture her any other way besides this.Micha and Ethan trade drunken looks and then howl with laughter. The room quiets down a little as people glance in our direction.Whats so funny? Lila frowns and looks to me for help. Im so lost.Nothing. They just think theyre funny. I dodge around Micha, but he seizes my e lbow and hauls me back against his chest. Hey relax, baby. He kisses my forehead and gives me his barren face. Please dont go. I just got you back. Before I took off, the boundaries of our friendship were starting to blur. I thought time would fix this, but it seems like were back to where we started. As much as I would love to melt into him, it just cant happen. I cant open up like that and lose control. I need control. No ones got me back. Im just here for summer break and only because I didnt have money to rent an apartment, I say and his expression falls. The Ella you knew is gone. She died on that bridge eight months ago.He blinks, as shocked as I am. His lips part then he clasps them shut, struck speechless.I didnt mean that, I say quickly. Im sorry, Micha. I just cant deal with this.Dont be sorry for being real, he says, rubbing his forehead with the back of his hand.I force the lump in my throat down. Im sorry, I say again, and then weave through the crowd and out the back do or, inhaling the fresh air.Whats your problem? Lila asks as she catches up with me at the edge of my driveway. She squashes her plastic cup and tosses it into the trash can on the back porch. Im so confused. What just happened?I needed to get out of there before I lost it. I dont slow down until Im in my room where I close the door and shut the window, locking away the world. I sigh back against the wall, breathing in the quiet.Lila watches me with inquisitiveness as she pulls her hair back into a bun and puts some lip gloss on. Ethan and Micha act like you used to be someone else. Like this isnt the real you. inadequacy to explain? Not really. I push away from the door and collect some pajamas from the duffel bag. Im going to go take a shower. Do you need anything from downstairs?Yeah, for you to tell me why those guys have you so frazzled. She unclips her watch and tosses it into her purse thats on the bed. Ive never seen you so worked up like that. You basically had an orgasm whe n you foremost saw him.I did not, I say, embarrassed and annoyed. And you havent seen me that worked up because Im not that person anymore.Except for when youre around him, she insinuates. When you were talking to him, there was something in your eyes Ive never seen before. You were always so closed off to all the guys at parties and in school. Honestly, I thought you were a virgin. But the way you and Micha were looking at each other youve had sex with him, right?Pressing my lips together, I tuck my pajamas under my arm, and shake my head. No, Micha and Ive never slept together, just like weve never dated. But weve been friends since we were kids. She sits down on the bed and unhooks her sandal. But youve had sex before?I squirm in my skin. Im going to go get ready for bed.Whoa, wait a second. She leaps off the bed draining one shoe and jumps in front of the door with her hands spread out to the side. Are you saying that youve never had sex? Ever.I struggle for nomenclature shel l understand. Its not like I havent because I dont believe in premarital sex or anything. I just Look theres a lot you dont know about me and sometimes I have a hard time getting close to people.Shes not surprised. Well, obviously. Thats totally been a given from day one. What do you mean? I question. Ive never told anyone that before. Not even Micha. It means sometimes I can see right through you. She sighs and counts down on her fingers. Ive been your roommate for eight months and all I know about you is youre focused on school, you hate to drink, hate being around large crowds, and have never went on a date. I barely know you and being here, Im starting to wonder if I know you at all.She knows the Ella I want her to know. Can you let me by? Im really tired. She gives me a disbelieving look, but doesnt press. She steps aside and lets me by. Relief washes over me because I dont want to get into it with her. Not tonight. Not ever. I never want to get into the night that changed my life . I buried my reckless identity, and I wont dig it up again.

Development of the Education System and Society

It is been a fact that our program lineal brass has reached far beyond our imagination. Through the development of our disciplineal system, we be able to enhance our applied information by inventing new inventions that provide be useful and meet the societies collects and thus, these create positive impacts to our connection. It helps our confederacy more lively and makes things admission feeible and a lot easier. Furthermore, as we continue to study this issue, we should try to understand what is an education and learn a little overview which regards to this. discipline is the growth and improvement of the capacity of the individual to be useful section of our society through and through teaching and knowledge precise beliefs, skills and knowledge. Confidentially, it is the procedure of taking in knowledge of numbers and language which atomic number 18 learned from p arents and more members of the refining of the students and concerning the execution of surrounding ob jects. The magazines, journals, books and digest in the field of education deal with the teaching and learning preparations and trainings which comprise game playing, testing, record keeping, seating arrangements, lectures, interests, scheduling, bullying, computer access and motivation. It is presently established and renowned that the great signifi bay windowt elements in some effectiveness of the teacher are the dialogue with students and the education and the teachers personality. The greatest teachers are competent to interpret knowledge of a subject, excellent adjudication, knowledge and wisdom into an important knowledge of a subject which is comprehend and kept breastfeed of by the student. It is their capability to comprehend a subject expertly enough that they can be able to express its quintessence to a newfangled genesis of students which is necessary of every teacher. The objective is to be able to establish a knowledge substance base which permits the student to deve lop as they are displace string out into trenchant life happenings. The transitory of knowledge from generation to other generation permits the student to develop and mature into a serviceable member of our society. The purport of this study is to explore the development of the education system and its impact it had on society.OverviewIt is generally acknowledged that the procedure of education starts at birth and endures during the course of life. there are many perceive and choose confidence with that education begins previous than this- as indication by several parents who play music or sound out to the baby, hoping that it go away persuade and motivate the development of the child. Education is frequently making used to de none to formal education. Moreover, it conceals a variety of occurrences since formal learning up to the constructing of understanding and knowledge amidst of our day to day living.Eventually, every situation that we undergo aids or serves as a form of our education. Distinct slew study and discover in distinct approaches and several things will have to be made clear several times in several distinct approaches before the majority of the students gets it. Several students, unluckily, will never get it in view of the fact that they dont give any interest on it or have not able to learn sufficiently of the foundation knowledge of a p plagiariseranged subject to go forward to the next level. Each angiotensin-converting enzyme of us receives informal education from several sources (see Education. Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. August 25, 2006. http//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Education). Thus, this informal education and formal education will lead us to summate change in our society by making new or advancements in our technologies, just like in the field of IT.*Development of the Educational dodging and its impact it had on Society*Through the progress in our educational system, we are able to improve our technologies which help us connect globally. Advance technology is part of the development of our educational system. Moreover, it also enhances our stinting stability by engaging businesses globally using the advance technology that we have learned through our education.Information technology as defined by Ben Meadowcroft in his study that it is the technology that is utilized to store, manipulate, distribute or make information.Several non-profit-making and institutions are wounding and enthusiastic to understand either developing technologies and the Internet posses an authentic positive impact on civil society and either non get are taking draw of the chances to utilize technology in groundbreaking procedures in rank to fulfill their assignment. On the other hand, technology can be able to utilize to adjoin together the people internationally around a shared cause to realize and accomplish world-changing outcomes far beyond the assurance of empowering nonprofit organizations in order to perform sign ificant purposes like as fundraising, and recruiting unpaid workers more efficiently. In distinction to several of the undertakings expressed through William Galston, David Eisner declared that the truly transformative impact that the Internet will have on nonprofits is specifically in the area of building community. James Austin stated that technology is redefining community while it is no longer intemperate on geography but then on another shared qualities which can connect people throughout cyberspace. He recommended a newfangled definition of community a group of people bound together by shared activities, purpose, and values. As stated by Eisner, there are four inclinations that are unfavorable to understanding the profits influence in creating societies There are more people who will discover and realize that it is easier to form supplementary associations as outcomes of the internet. Inquiring each individual to give will become simple and uncomplicated since information an d action can presently be incorporated. Example, contributors can read which regard the earthquake in India and then stretched and offer all at once through the use of internet. Reports, fundraising, online societies and procedures to lend a hand, which Eisner called the cycle of engagement, will turn out to be frictionless, in view of the fact that the internet empowers people to learn regarding a dilemma and do something without delay and flawlessly. By mean value of networking, people can be able to perform simultaneously more carefully and thoroughly in high-quality information sharing and learning societies.Online interaction gives a strong structural and administrative tool for advocacy operation and promotions. Mike Whitlam stated that As a communication tool, as campaigning tool, its incredible. except then, this strong association turn out to be a reality if not, nonprofit organizations posses the capacity to utilize technology. Eisner stated thatWhats really important is yet where grants are related to technology, grant makers need to get into an interest in their grantees technological proficiency in the like way that they take an interest in their staff capability, their management, and their financial credibility.Turning to present inclinations in e-philanthropy, Austin declared that same as the Internet business world, the e-philanthropy society (with nonprofit and for profit) is undergoing distress labor pains. As Austin continued that there will be additional terminations and merging, but then the space will not disappear. The internet technology has irrevocably altered the philanthropic capital market. Austin was able to identify the four forces as the precarious shapers of the newfangled technology-based e-philanthropy society. Ant these are frugal pressures, mistrust, clashing cultures and technology readiness. An article entitled education and sparing Development stated that the development of the internet has taken along newfangled c hances and enhanced communication to several businesses and people. Globally, IT expenditure is foretold to upsurge by 35 percent in 2010, as stated by the interrogation firm IDC (Worldwide Black Book, 2004). As an outcome, the need will increase for extremely equipped individuals to administer and support IT systems. In United areas of America, every year there is an increase in need for those work forces have been the topmost amongst the It sector. Moreover, in several emerging countries, get into training on the newest technologies is either inadequate or unobtainable. An absence of way in to technology and education regarding its use is one issue contributing to the gulf amongst developed and developing economies. The said gulf is known as digital divide (see Education and Economic development http//www.cisco.com/web/about/ac227/ac111/cisco_and_society/education_and_economic_development.html).On the other hand, the article entitled Science Education ashes Standards stated that the science education system measurements give standard for adjudicating the presentation of the modules of the science education system accountable for giving schools with essential financial and intellectual means. In spite of the recurrent usage of the terminology educational system, the sense is frequently ambiguous. produces are element of a national education system and schools are included as elements of a topical anaesthetic society which can comprise universities and colleges, parks and museums, laboratories, community organizations, various media, businesses and nature centers. The initial purpose of the science system is to provide society with technically and methodically educated citizens. Resources and information invigorate the system. The informations nature-the greatness of resources- and the tracks along which they move are managed and regulated through policies which are limited and controlled in instruments like juridic rulings, legislation and budgets. Syste ms can be characterized in an assortment of procedures which depend on the intention and the data to be communicated. An example of this is in figure below which portrays the intersection amongst three systems which persuade the preparation of science education. This kind of congressman is a cue that actions done in sole system have insinuations not exclusively in science education but then again for other systems too (see Science Education System Standards. http//www.nap.edu/readingroom/books/nses/8.html).The overlap of three systems which persuade science educationOrganization of performance amongst the systems can work for as a strong and influential force for alteration. But then, if performances are at cross intentions, their results and influences can be refuted and annul and make waste and conflict. The overlap in the figure above demonstrates that everyday pursuits of science classrooms are persuaded and manipulated indirectly and directly through several organizations t hat are themselves systems. study organizations and societies, cliquish sector special- interest groups and government agencies at the local, regional, state, and national levels are three amongst many. Organizations have senior manager officer and administering body that eventually are accountable for the activities of the organizations and persuade on science education. The sovereignty of government organizations to persuade classroom science originates from two sources and these are the (1) legislative, judicial authority or constitutional, and (2) economic and political act. Since education is not precisely brought up as a federal official power in United States Constitution, authority intended for education exists in states or regional. Federal dollars might be sought out for precise usages but since dollars move through state organizations to local regions, their usage is lay open to alteration to meet up the state purposes. State education agencies usually have more unswervi ng effect on science classroom pursuits compared with federal organizations. The science education is also considered as a network to make easy thinking which concerns the systems several interacting modules.Science education systems components aid an assortment of purposes which persuade the classrooms practice of science education. The functions usually made the decision at the state-but there are times that the local will do- level comprises the substance of the school science course, the traits and qualities of the science program, the character of science teaching, and evaluation practices (see Science Education System Standards. http//www.nap.edu/readingroom/books/nses/8.html)Several distinct organizations and trustworthy individuals interrelate. The illustration below portrays in what way is each individual and every agency from distinct systems interrelates in the groundwork, certification and science teachers employment. Science education systems components which have a mai n influence on teachers certificate match in four classifications and these are (1) professional societies like the American Association of Physics, American Geological Institute, National Science Teachers Association, National Association of Biology Teachers and American Chemical Society (2) program-accrediting agencies like the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education which confirms teacher educations programs and National Board for Professional Teaching Standards which confirms teachers (3) higher(prenominal) educations organizations functioning within and cross state, local levels and national.Professional societies normally are not supposed of as accrediting agencies but rather their membership criterions explain what a professional is. The illustration below was taken from science Education System Standards. http//www.nap.edu/readingroom/books/nses/8.html.A research study published in February 2005 entitled the Impact of the State high Education System on the T exas Economy and written by Carole Keeton Strayhorn explained that Higher education has an important impact or effect on the Texas economy, increasing the Texas economic engine with 33.2 billion USD each year. Seeing that the system obtains just about 6 billion USD yearly in the state general revenue and regional property tariffs, each dollar capitalize in the higher education system of the state finally returns 5.50 USD to the Texas economy. This is an extraordinary and notable return, even for all-or-nothing technology instigation. But then, when it comes to the Texas higher education system, the risk factors are much higher. In favor of, the investors in Texas are capitalizing in the most significant business enterprise for the preparation of the young Texans future. With this fundamental role, state higher education funding is bringing up the rear ground to other state service industries. After regulating for inflation, expenditure on public protection and alterations increased 2 23 percent in the previous 15 years at the same time as real higher education spending increased only 44 percent throughout the same span of time. This study of Carole Keeton Strayton scrutinizes the economic impact of higher education by two extensive avenues. The initial and most direct impact is the supplementary sales, profits and service made by external dollars being brought into the Texas economy. The second is the long-term function higher education participates in escalating the capacity of the economy of the state by a more well-informed and beneficial work force. Her research presented that $3.1 billion in yearly student, investigation and health care-correlated higher education spending from out-of-state possessions is worn-out(a) and re-spent by the Texas consumers and businesses every year to sum up $10.1 billion in economic amount produced. Furthermore, the Texas higher education system frequently links with the private sector to make occupations and enhance the Texan s quality of life. Seeing together the profits and productivity-based methods, the Texas higher education system finally increases and multiplies the productivity capacity of the Texas economy having the sightly of 23.1 billion USD every year.Adding together the supply-side of profit to the $10.1 billion impacts from out-of-sate spending take along the sum total impact of the higher education system on the economy of Texas to 33.2 billion USD every year. The contribution of higher education to the Texas economy is considerable and significant than to other businesses. In reality, the totality of three years of the economic impact of the higher education exceeds Texas 72 billion USD gas and oil business or 62 billion USD high machinery and equipment business. Eventually, a few of higher education victories demonstrate the function of higher education in expanding and intensifying occupations and the eminence of life in every Texan individual (see Strayhorn, C. K. The Impact of the S tate Higher Education System on the Texas Economy. February 2005. http//www.window.state.tx.us/specialrpt/highered05/).In addition, the Texas higher education system comprises of 145 private and public colleges, health-related organizations and teaching centers and universities, comprising 44 private organizations and one hundred one state-supported. The admission every in university and college in Texas in 2004s fall was about 1.2 million and was anticipated to range at least 1.3 million students in 2015.Texas, as one of the most populated states, the students depend heavily upon public instead of the private higher education organizations. As stated by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, greater than 90 percent or about 1,064,620 students are admitted at its publicly-funded organizations which comprise universities (483,645), 57 community colleges and other two-year organizations (565,839), 35 and nine public health-related organizations (15,136). The Texas public high er education is funded by a mixture of student fees, tuition, clinic and hospital revenue and other local endowments (see Strayhorn, C. K. Biomechanics of Wrestling Suplex

The origins and history of battle date bandaging as far as 15,000 years with depictions of grappling institute in undermine drawings in France. Wrestling is one of the oldest historical sports rivaled only by track and field, and has been seen in ancient literature and games of Greece and early Egypt. The most notable influence of wrestling comes from the Olympics, where it was introduced in 708BC . There ar many forms of wrestling including Greco-Roman, Freestyle, Folk style, and Catch wrestling all of which operate at different levels and have unique effects of rules.Freestyle wrestling is one of the most popular as it is employed at the soaring school, col degreee, and Olympic level, where the ultimate goal is to throw and pin your oppositeness to the mat, which results in an nimble win. Freestyle wrestling is the most complete style of standup wrestling and brings together traditional wrestling, judo and sambo techniques. I choose to research wrestling because it is a s port I participated in while I was in high school and now use its application in my amateur mixed martial arts career.I had always found the suplex throw to be one of the flashiest and most detrimental takedowns from the feet which is why I choose to analyze this movement for my project. The suplex is seen in nearly all forms of wrestling and is tell to be one of the most effective throws in the sport. The technique employed to complete this throw successfully without injury to yourself or an opponent requires an advanced mind of the sport, above average skill and unique biomechanics which makes it a perfect topic for more extensive analysis. pic When performing the suplex throw there are three major(ip) phases that produce the collaborative move. There is the movement that gains control of the opponent and acts as the pre-loading of momentum to initiate the following movement, there is then the actual lift deal where the opponent is taken off the ground, and there is the movemen t in which the opponent makes contact with the ground once again and the active private gains control of the opponent on the floor. The sequence of pictures displays eleven figures and steps in sequential order to perform the suplex throw. The preliminary phase is depicted by the first gear three figures and is the set up and pre-loading of momentum, the act phase is the explosive movement of bringing the opponent off the ground and over the bring up of the active individual whilst the active individual falls backwards, The follow-through phase is the movement that brings the opponent back into contact with the ground and secures position of the opponent on the floor. The Lost Symbol Chapter 71-75

CHAPTER 71Malakh stood naked in the billowing warmth of his steamer shower. He felt pure again, having wa escape from off the last remaining scent of ethano(prenominal). As the eucalyptus-infused vapors permeated his skin, he could feel his pores opening to the heat. Then he began his ritual.First, he rubbed depilatory chemicals across his tattooed body and scalp, removing any traces of body hair. Hairless were the gods of the seven islands of Heliades. Then he massaged Abramelin anele into his softened and receptive flesh. Abramelin is the sacred oil of the great(p) Magi. Then he turned his shower lever hard to the left, and the water turned ice cold. He stood beneath the frigid water for a full minute to close his pores and trap the heat and energy within his core. The cold served as a reminder of the icy river in which this transformation had begun. When he stepped from the shower, he was shivering, but within seconds, his core heat emanated up by dint of his layers of flesh and warmed him. Malakhs insides felt like a furnace. He stood naked authenticly the mirror and admired his form . . . perhaps the last time he would see himself as a mere mortal. His feet were the talons of a hawk. His legsBoaz and Jachinwere the antediluvian patriarch pillars of wisdom. His hips and abdomen were the archways of mysterious power. Hanging beneath the archway, his massive sex organ bore the tattooed symbols of his destiny. In another life, this heavy shaft of flesh had been his source of carnal pleasure. But no longer.I nurture been purified.Like the mystical eunuch monks of Katharoi, Malakh had removed his testicles. He had sacrificed his physical potency for a much worthy cardinal. Gods retain no gender. Having shed the human imperfection of gender along with the earthly pull of sexual temptation, Malakh had become like Ouranos, Attis, Sporus, and the great castrati magicians of Arthurian legend. Every spiritual metamorphosis is preceded by a physical one. Such was the lesson of all the great gods . . . from Osiris, to Tammuz, to Jesus, to Shiva, to the Buddha himself.I must shed the man who clothes me.Abruptly, Malakh drew his gaze upward, past the double-headed phoenix on his chest, past the collage of ancient sigils adorning his face, and directly to the top of his head. He tipped his head toward the mirror, b arly able to see the circle of bare flesh that waited there. This stance on the body was sacred. Known as the fontanel, it was the one area of the human skull that remained open at birth. An oculus to the brain. Although this physiological portal closes within a take of months, it remains a symbolic vestige of the lost connection between the forther and inner worlds.Malakh studied the sacred patch of virginal skin, which was enclosed by the crownlike circle of an ouroborosa mystical snake devouring its own tail. The bare flesh seemed to stare hind end at him . . . bright with promise.Robert Langdon soon would uncoer the great treasure that Malakh required. Once Malakh possessed it, the void on top of his head would be filled, and he would at last be prepared for his final transformation.Malakh hyperbolise across his bedroom and took from his bottom drawer a long strip of white silk. As he had done many times before, he wrap up it around his groin and buttocks. Then he went downstairs. In his office, his computer had standard an e-mail message. It was from his contactWHAT YOU REQUIRE IS NOW WITHIN REACH.I WILL run across YOU WITHIN THE HOUR. PATIENCE.Malakh smiled. It was time to make final preparations.CHAPTER 72The CIA dramatic art component was in a foul mood as he descended from the reading-room balcony. Bellamy lied to us. The ingredient had seen no heat signatures whatsoever upstairs near the Moses statue, nor anywhere else upstairs for that matter. So where the hell did Langdon go?The agent retraced his steps now to the only blank theyd spotted any heat signatures at allthe librarys distribu tion hub. He descended the stairs again, moving beneath the octagonal console. The noise of the rumbling conveyors was grating. Advancing into the space, he flipped down his thermal goggles and scanned the room. Nothing. He looked toward the stacks, where the mangled door lighten showed hot from the explosion. Other than that, he saw noHoly shitThe agent jumped back as an unexpected luminescence drifted into his field of vision. Like a pair of ghosts, the dimly glowing imprints of two humanoids had just emerged from the wall on a conveyor belt. Heat signatures.Stunned, the agent watched as the two apparitions circled the room on the conveyor loop and then disappeared head origin into a narrow hole in the wall. They rode the conveyor out? Thats insanity. In addition to realizing they had just lost Robert Langdon through a hole in the wall, the field agent was now aware that he had another problem. Langdons not alone? He was just about to switch on his transceiver and call the team le ader, but the team leader beat him to it. every points, weve got an abandoned Volvo on the plaza in front of the library. Registered to one Katherine Solomon. Eyewitness says she entered the library not long ago. We suspect shes with Robert Langdon. Director Sato has ordered that we come them two like a shot.Ive got heat signatures for both of them shouted the field agent in the distribution room. He explained the situation. For Christs sake the team leader replied. Where the hell does the conveyor go?The field agent was already consulting the employee reference schematic on the bulletin board. Adams Building, he replied. One block from here. All points. Redirect to the Adams Building NOWCHAPTER 73Sanctuary. Answers. The speech echoed in Langdons mind as he and Katherine burst through a side door of the Adams Building and out into the cold winter night. The mysterious society had conveyed his mess cryptically, but Langdon had understood. Katherines reaction to their destination had been surprisingly sanguine Where better to find One True God?Now the question was how to get there.Langdon spun in place, trying to get his bearings. It was dark, but thankfully the weather had cleared. They were standing in a small courtyard. In the distance, the Capitol Dome looked startlingly far away, and Langdon realized this was the first moment he had stepped outside since arriving at the Capitol several hours ago.So much for my lecture.Robert, look. Katherine pointed toward the silhouette of the Jefferson Building.Langdons first reaction on seeing the building was astonishment that they had traveled so far underground on a conveyor belt. His second reaction, however, was alarm. The Jefferson Building was now abuzz with activitytrucks and cars pulling in, men shouting. Is that a searchlight?Langdon grabbed Katherines hand. make do on.They ran northeast across the courtyard, quickly disappearing from view behind an elegant U- shaped building, which Langdon realized was t he Folger Shakespeare Library. This particular building seemed appropriate camouflage for them tonight, as it housed the original Latin manuscript of Francis Bacons New Atlantis, the utopian vision on which the American forefathers had allegedly modeled a new world based on ancient surrender it awayledge. Even so, Langdon would not be stopping. We need a taxi. They arrived at the corner of Third Street and East Capitol. The traffic was sparse, and Langdon felt fading hope as he scanned for taxis. He and Katherine hurried northward on Third Street, putting distance between themselves and the Library of Congress. It was not until they had gone an entire block that Langdon ultimately spotted a cab rounding the corner. He flagged it down, and the cab pulled over.Middle Eastern music played on his radio, and the young Arab revoltr gave them a favourable smile. Where to? the driver asked as they jumped into the car.We need to go toNorthwest Katherine interjected, pointing up Third Str eet away from the Jefferson Building. Drive toward Union Station, then left on mama Avenue. Well tell you when to stop. The driver shrugged, closed the Plexiglas divider, and turned his music back on.Katherine shot Langdon an admonishing look as if to say Leave no trail. She pointed out the window, directing Langdons attention to a black eggbeater that was skimming in low, approaching the area. Shit. Sato was apparently dead serious about recovering Solomons pyramid. As they watched the helicopter land between the Jefferson and Adams buildings, Katherine turned to him, looking increasingly worried. Can I see your jail cell phone for a second?Langdon handed her his phone.Peter told me you postulate an eidetic memory? she give tongue to, rolling down her window. And that you remember every phone number youve ever dialed?Thats true, butKatherine hurled his phone out into the night. Langdon spun in his seat and watched as his cell phone cartwheeled and splintered into pieces on the pa vement behind them. Why did you do thatOff the grid, Katherine said, her eyes grave. This pyramid is our only hope of finding my brother, and I have no intention of letting the CIA steal it from us.In the front seat, Omar Amirana bobbed his head and hummed along with his music. Tonight had been slow, and he felt blessed to finally have a fare. His cab was just passing Stanton Park, when the familiar voice of his company dispatcher crackled over the radio. This is Dispatch. All vehicles in the area of the National Mall. We have just received a bulletin from government authorities regarding two fugitives in the area of the Adams Building . . .Omar listened in amazement as Dispatch described the precise lucifer in his cab. He stole an uneasy glance in his rearview mirror. Omar had to admit, the tall guy did look familiar somehow. Did I see him on Americas Most treasured?Gingerly, Omar reached for his radio handset. Dispatch? he said, speaking softly into the transceiver. This is cab one-three-four. The two people you asked aboutthey are in my cab . . . right now.Dispatch immediately advised Omar what to do. Omars hands were trembling as he called the phone number Dispatch had given him. The voice that answered was tight and efficient, like that of a soldier. This is Agent turner Simkins, CIA field ops. Who is this?Um . . . Im the taxi driver? Omar said. I was told to call about the twoAre the fugitives currently in your vehicle? Answer only yes or no.Yes.Can they hear this conversation? Yes or no? No. The slider isWhere are you taking them?Northwest on Massachusetts.Specific destination? They didnt say.The agent hesitated. Is the male passenger carrying a leather bag?Omar glanced in the rearview mirror, and his eyes went wide. Yes That bag doesnt have explosives or anything inListen carefully, the agent said. You are in no danger so long as you follow my directions exactly. Is that clear?Yes, sir. What is your name?Omar, he said, breaking a sweat.Listen, Omar, t he man said sedately. Youre doing great. I want you to drive as slowly as possible while I get my team out in front of you. Do you understand? Yes, sir. Also, is your cab fitted out(p) with an intercom system so you can communicate with them in the backseat?Yes, sir.Good. Heres what I want you to do.CHAPTER 74The Jungle, as it is known, is the centerpiece of the U.S. Botanic Garden (USBG)Americas living museum primed(p) adjacent to the U.S. Capitol Building. Technically a rain forest, the Jungle is housed in a towering greenhouse, complete with soaring rubber trees, strangler figs, and a canopy catwalk for more daring tourists.Normally, Warren Bellamy felt nurtured by the Jungles earthy smells and the sunlight glinting through the mist that filtered down from the vapor nozzles in the glass ceiling. Tonight, however, lit only by moonlight, the Jungle terrified him. He was sweating profusely, writhing against the cramps that now stabbed at his arms, still pinned painfully behind him.D irector Sato paced before him, puffing calmly on her cigarettethe equivalent of ecoterrorism in this carefully calibrated environment. Her face looked roughly demonic in the smoke-filled moonlight that streamed down through the glass ceiling overhead. So then, Sato continued, when you arrived at the Capitol tonight, and you discovered that I was already there . . . you make a decision. Rather than making your presence known to me, you descended quietly into the SBB, where, at great risk to yourself, you attacked Chief Anderson and myself, and you helped Langdon escape with the pyramid and capstone. She rubbed her shoulder. An interesting choice.A choice I would make again, Bellamy thought. Where is Peter? he demanded angrily. How would I know? Sato said. You seem to know everything else Bellamy fired back at her, making no attempt to hide his suspicion that she was somehow behind all this. You knew to go to the Capitol Building. You knew to find Robert Langdon. And you even knew to X- ray Langdons bag to find the capstone. Obviously, someone is giving you a lot of inside information. Sato laughed coldly and stepped closer to him. Mr. Bellamy, is that why you attacked me? Do you think Im the enemy? Do you think Im trying to steal your little pyramid? Sato took a drag on her cigarette and blew the smoke out of her nostrils. Listen carefully. No one understands better than I do the importance of keeping secrets. I believe, as you do, that there is certain information to which the masses should not be privy. Tonight, however, there are forces at work that I fear you have not yet grasped. The man who kidnapped Peter Solomon holds enormous power . . . a power that you apparently have yet to realize. Believe me, he is a walking time bomb . . . capable of initiating a series of events that will profoundly change the world as you know it.I dont understand. Bellamy shifted on the bench, his arms aching in his handcuffs. You dont need to understand. You need to obey. Right now, my only hope of averting a major chance is to cooperate with this man . . . and to give him exactly what he wants. Which means, you are going to call Mr. Langdon and tell him to turn himself in, along with the pyramid and capstone. Once Langdon is in my custody, he will decrypt the pyramids inscription, obtain whatever information this man is demanding, and provide him with exactly what he wants. The location of the spiral staircase that leads to the Ancient Mysteries? I cant do that. Ive taken vows of secrecy.Sato erupted. I dont give a damn what youve vowed, I will throw you in prison so fastThreaten me all you like, Bellamy said defiantly. I will not help you.Sato took a deep breath and spoke now in a fearsome whisper. Mr. Bellamy, you have no thinker whats really going on tonight, do you?The tense silence hung for several seconds, finally broken by the sound of Satos phone. She plunged her hand into her pocket and eagerly snatched it out. tattle to me, she answered, liste ning carefully to the reply. Where is their taxi now? How long? Okay, good. Bring them to the U.S. Botanic Garden. Service entrance. And make sure you get me that god-damn pyramid and capstone.Sato hung up and turned back to Bellamy with a smug smile. Well then . . . it seems youre fast outliving your usefulness.CHAPTER 75Robert Langdon stared blankly into space, feeling too tired to urge the slow-moving taxi driver to flump up the pace. Beside him, Katherine had fallen silent, too, looking frustrated by their lack of understanding of what made the pyramid so special. They had again been through everything they knew about the pyramid, the capstone, and the evenings strange events they still had no ideas as to how this pyramid could possibly be considered a map to anything at all.Jeova Sanctus Unus? The secret hides within The Order?Their mysterious contact had promised them answers if they could meet him at a specific place. A refuge in Rome, north of the Tiber. Langdon knew the fo refathers new Rome had been renamed Washington primordial in her history, and yet vestiges of their original dream remained the Tibers amnionic fluid still flowed into the Potomac senators still convened beneath a replica of St. Peters dome and Vulcan and Minerva still watched over the Rotundas long-extinguished flame. The answers sought by Langdon and Katherine were apparently waiting for them just a a few(prenominal) miles ahead. Northwest on Massachusetts Avenue. Their destination was indeed a refuge . . . north of Washingtons Tiber Creek. Langdon wished the driver would speed up.Abruptly, Katherine jolted upright in her seat, as if she had made a sudden realization. Oh my God, Robert She turned to him, her face going white. She hesitated a moment and then spoke emphatically. Were going the wrong wayNo, this is right, Langdon countered. Its northwest on MassachuNo I mean were going to the wrong placeLangdon was mystified. He had already told Katherine how he knew what location w as being described by the mysterious caller. It contains ten stones from mass Sinai, one from heaven itself, and one with the visage of Lukes dark father. Only one building on earth could make those claims. And that was exactly where this taxi was headed.Katherine, Im certain the location is correct. No she shouted. We dont need to go there anymore. I figured out the pyramid and capstone I know what this is all aboutLangdon was amazed. You understand it?Yes We have to go to Freedom Plaza insteadNow Langdon was lost. Freedom Plaza, although nearby, seemed totally irrelevant.Jeova Sanctus Unus Katherine said. The One True God of the Hebrews. The sacred symbol of the Hebrews is the Jewish starthe blockade of Solomonan important symbol to the Masons She fished a dollar bill out of her pocket. Give me your pen. Bewildered, Langdon pulled a pen from his jacket.Look. She spread the bill out on her thigh and took his pen, pointing to the big(p) Seal on the back. If you superimpose Solomon s seal on the Great Seal of the United States . . . She drew the symbol of a Jewish star precisely over the pyramid. Look what you getLangdon looked down at the bill and then back at Katherine as if she were mad.Robert, look more closely Dont you see what Im pointing at?He glanced back at the drawing. What in the world is she getting at? Langdon had seen this image before. It was popular among conspiracy theorists as proof that the Masons held secret influence over our early nation. When the six-pointed star was laid perfectly over the Great Seal of the United States, the stars top vertex fit perfectly over the Masonic all-seeing eye . . . and, quite an eerily, the other five vertices clearly pointed to the letters M-A-S-O-N.Katherine, thats just a coincidence, and I still dont see how it has anything to do with Freedom Plaza.Look again she said, sounding almost angry now. Youre not looking where I am pointing Right there. Dont you see it?An instant later, Langdon saw it.CIA field-o perations leader Turner Simkins stood outside the Adams Building and pressed his cell phone tightly to his ear, straining to hear the conversation now taking place in the back of the taxi. Something just happened. His team was about to board the modified Sikorsky UH-60 helicopter to head northwest and set up a roadblock, but now it seemed the situation had suddenly changed.Seconds ago, Katherine Solomon had begun insisting they were going to the wrong destination. Her explanationsomething about the dollar bill and Jewish starsmade no sense to the team leader, nor, apparently, to Robert Langdon. At least at first. Now, however, Langdon seemed to have grasped her meaning. My God, youre right Langdon blurted. I didnt see it earliestSuddenly Simkins could hear someone banging on the drivers divider, and then it slid open. Change of plans, Katherine shouted to the driver. Take us to Freedom PlazaFreedom Plaza? the cabbie said, sounding nervous. Not northwest on Massachusetts?Forget that Katherine shouted. Freedom Plaza Go left here Here HEREAgent Simkins heard the cab screeching around a corner. Katherine was talking excitedly again to Langdon, saying something about the famous bronze cast of the Great Seal embedded in the plaza.Maam, just to confirm, the cabbies voice interjected, sounding tense. Were going to Freedom Plazaon the corner of Pennsylvania and Thirteenth?Yes Katherine said. HurryIts very close. Two minutes.Simkins smiled. Nicely done, Omar. As he dashed toward the idling helicopter, he shouted to his team. Weve got them Freedom Plaza Move
